Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generators (PMSGs) have become a cornerstone in the modern energy landscape due to their high efficiency, reliability, and compact design. Their applications span various domains, including wind power generation, industrial automation, and marine energy systems. As the demand for sustainable and renewable energy solutions continues to rise, advancements in PMSG technology are crucial for achieving more efficient and reliable energy systems.
This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the latest research and developments in the field of PMSGs. We invite contributions that explore innovative designs, control strategies, and applications, as well as advancements in modeling, fault diagnosis, and condition monitoring. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive platform for researchers and practitioners to share their findings and promote further advancements in PMSG technology.
Topics of interest for this Special Issue include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Design optimization of PMSGs;
- Fault diagnosis and prognostics for PMSGs;
- Efficiency improvement techniques;
- Thermal management strategies;
- Renewable energy integration;
- Novel applications in transportation and aerospace;
- Advanced control strategies;
- Modeling and simulation approaches;
- Condition monitoring and fault tolerance;
- Vibration and acoustic noise reduction;
- Magnetic material advancements;
- Modular PMSG designs;
- Power electronics for PMSGs;
- Hybrid energy systems involving PMSGs;
- Advances in manufacturing processes for PMSGs.
By addressing these topics, this Special Issue aims to contribute to the development of more efficient, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions through advancements in PMSG technology. We encourage researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and research institutions to submit their high-quality manuscripts and share their latest innovations in PMSG technology.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
