Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Climate change is the main challenge facing humanity in the 21st century, and CO2 emissions from industrial development and transport are the main cause of climate changes. One of the main components for reducing CO2 emissions and increasing competitiveness is to increase energy efficiency throughout the flow: production, transport, distribution and use.
At the same time, increasing energy efficiency can be achieved in two main ways:
- Optimization of conversion and adaptation equipment that are part of the energy flow;
- Improving power quality so that each user operates with unity power factor.
In this context, the purpose of this dedicated edition is to promote expertise in the field of innovative solutions for intelligent systems designed to increase energy efficiency by publishing significant achievements in the field.
We would like to include articles that address issues related to:
- Increasing energy efficiency by Improve Power Quality (active filtering, power factor compensation etc.) and control optimization;
- Innovative and optimal solutions and structures of systems with high energy efficiency or leading to increasing energy efficiency;
- Implementation of high energetic performance structures and algorithms for controlling systems.
There are no restrictions on addressing issues aimed at increasing energy efficiency. Authors are encouraged to submit the best papers on their own achievements. Work with experimental industrial or laboratory implementation is also encouraged. The key criteria for accepting the manuscript will be novelty, applicability and contribution to the field.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
