Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The scope of the special edition of the journal Energies “Circular Built Environment” encompasses a wide range of topics.
Circularity concerns material consumption and material flows, but other resources such as energy and water also require the very same attention. The Special Issue seeks definitions of circularity in relation to the built environment (BE), as well as quantifiable parameter schemes.
In the circularity debate around the built environment, scale levels play a significant role: from components to systems, buildings, cities, countries, and the world. In particular, their interconnection and systemic approach are of interest.
The rethinking of traditional business models, social, legal, and managerial aspects, as well as policy, needs to be addressed in a transition to a circular built environment.
The relationship between research and education can be an interesting point of view.
As such, a wide variety of contributions are welcomed and will be peer-reviewed for this open access journal.
