Dear Colleagues,
As environmental issues are becoming more complicated and challenging nowadays, seeking effective and practical solutions to answer these environmental problems is crucial! Functional materials have been proven to be key to successful environmental remediation because functional materials can be useful tools for eliminating contaminants and abating their environmental impacts. With facile designs, functional materials can be further tuned into nanoscale composites that consist of multiple components in order to offer synergistic and comprehensive solutions to modern environmental problems. These nanocomposites can also be a versatile platform to provide additional benefits for remediating the environment by creating more advantages via integrating various features of hybrid materials. Therefore, this Special Issue will focus on the design, development and applications of nanocomposites and hybrid materials as novel platforms for environmental remediation. This Special Issue will welcome submissions from the following areas:
- Synthesis and fabrication of nanoscale composites for adsorptive removal of contaminants;
- Development of nanocomposites and hybrid materials for environmental catalysis;
- Preparation of nanocomposites for electrochemical and photocatalytic environmental remediation;
- Hierarchically structured materials with multiple components for eliminating contaminants and environmental pollution control.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Nanomaterials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
