Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Plants must be able to respond promptly to a spectrum of stimuli and even anticipate future changes to adapt to and survive in the ever-changing environment. To do that, plants have evolved several signaling pathways interconnected in a complex regulatory network, designed to integrate many environmental signals with intrinsic regulatory circuits, including hormone-mediated regulations. The research performed in the last two decades has revealed the members of individual signaling pathways, hubs mediating their intense crosstalk, feed-forward and feedback regulatory loops, as well as a number of effector molecules. Such effectors are responsible for downstream changes in gene expression profiles, often associated with changes in epigenetic chromatin landscapes, plant proteome composition, and the physicochemical properties of plant bodies.

In this issue, we call for papers from all the fields of plant science studying numerous aspects of signal perception, transduction, and integration. A special focus will be on providing new insights into functionality of well-established signaling pathways, discoveries of surprising connections, and descriptions of novel mechanisms mediating synergistic or additive regulations downstream of individual signaling pathways. We encourage the authors to submit new original findings and new ideas and opinions based on a review of recently published papers.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Plants is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
