Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The computer vision and image analysis community has developed several technologies that are being used by the common mass of people and researched by the highly developed intelligentsia of the world. Deep learning together with computer vision and image analysis have achieved amazing results in terms of object detection and classification, along with several other problems like image segmentation.
Several big companies have released products that are based on computer vision. To name a few: Kinect by Microsoft, AIY vision kit by Google, BB8 (self-driving cars) by Nvidia, and Scananlyzer by Lemnatec. In last decade or so, image analysis has significantly aided life science researchers in carrying out phenotyping activities.
Applying laboratory science and computer technologies to real life requires solving several engineering problems. How to apply object classification to plant growth and pollination analysis? How to develop imaging hardware to obtain accurate phenotyping scores? Finding the answers to such questions requires dedicated interdisciplinary research activities.
In order to showcase and archive such high quality research outputs in the above context, this Special Issue is inviting original submissions. This will foster increased attention to research carried out into developing real life applications of computer vision and image analysis. This will allow the interdisciplinary community using image and video analysis to present new academic research and industrial developments.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Technologies is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
