Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing food industries worldwide. However, fish farming faces constant challenges, mainly related to multi-stressor conditions such as handling, sub-optimal nutrition, disease, and environmental problems (e.g., water quality and algal blooms), which impact fish performance, health and welfare. The industry has taken steps to help solve these problems, novel approaches that consider sustainable practices and resources, as well as more research, are necessary to make fish more resilient to the different challenges that affect them, which could also reduce the economic losses related to fish mortality.
Considering this, we are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue with original research articles and reviews, which may focus on sustainable functional ingredients, fish farming and performance, multi-stressor conditions, fish health, animal welfare, immune response, microbiota, among others.
We look forward to receiving your contributions.
