Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Interest in optimizing energy production and use is growing every year. Human development is constantly accompanied by technological progress. With dynamically changing energy prices, improving existing technological solutions can bring measurable energy savings. Engineering solutions, mainly of a technical nature, are constantly being sought.
In times of intensive industrial development, great emphasis is placed on sustainable development and proper synergy between man and nature.
Low-emission economy is a direction whose growth is achieved by integrating all aspects of economic development around energy-saving technologies. A properly functioning economy should focus on issues related to the efficient use of mechanisms capable of adapting existing technological solutions to the changing market situation. Appropriate impulses for energy-saving development strengthen the energy security of the economy.
The key challenge we face today is the logical use of already-known technologies to best match the flows of energy consumed in processes we already know.
In order to provide an economical energy stream in the expected period, it is necessary to modify production profiles, technological operations, materials, and operating characteristics, which will be possible by providing knowledge and tips to the designer or investor by seeking optimal technological solutions. This approach will point the way to favorable compromises in the future.
Therefore, this extremely important Special Issue strives to develop solutions for sustainable production that can save energy and reduce the emission of harmful compounds into the atmosphere in an era when there is great concern for clean technologies.
This Special Issue will deal with novel solutions to reach this objective. Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to, the following:
- New approaches to energy consumption;
- Modernization solutions;
- Low-emission energy-saving production;
- Reduction in emissions;
- Directions for reducing air pollution.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Energies is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
