Plant Development and Morphogenesis
A section of Plants (ISSN 2223-7747).
Section Information
Scope
The Plant Development and Morphogenesis Section of the journal Plants publishes the latest findings and major advances across the entire field of plant development and morphogenesis, which broadly encompasses studies on initiation, growth, and differentiation of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems in all land plant clades. The Section aims to increase our knowledge on plants’ structure, development, and morphogenesis and to explore plant adaptation to the physical abiotic environment (light, dark, temperature, water, wind) and complex biotic environment (other organisms such as mates, competitors, parasites , predators, and escape tactics of prey).
The section welcomes articles on highly relevant areas in plant growth, development, and morphogenesis, including interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on plant development and morphogenesis under biotic and abiotic stress. Topics covered by the section include but are not limited to:
- Initiation, growth, and morphogenesis of plant organs and tissues
- Apical meristem development
- Embryo and seed development
- Germination and seedling development
- Plant reproduction
- Root nodule and mycorrhiza
- Development and morphogenesis of plant under stress
- Hormonal regulation of developmental processes
- Plant adaptation and integrity
- Evolution of developmental mechanisms
