Topical Collection Information
Dear Colleagues,
A Topical Collection on health care and diabetes, in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, is being organized. For detailed information on the journal, I refer you to https://www.mdpi.com/journal/ijerph.
According to the World Health Organisation (WHO, 2015), 347 million people are currently living with diabetes worldwide. This number is expected to rise to 592 million by 2035, with the number of people with type 2 diabetes increasing in every country (International Diabetes Federation, 2015). As a result, the problem of diabetes has drawn interest from different strata of health care provisions, including primary, secondary, tertiary care and public health.
Researchers and practitioners in this field have also been looking at advances in diabetes care and management, including diagnosis, prevention, treatment and multi-morbidity. Developing strategies for reducing the risk factors, which predispose the population to diabetes, the acute and long term complications, and understanding the cost of diabetes in terms of health expenditure are crucial in decreasing the full impact of the condition.
This Topical Collection is open to the subject area of health care and diabetes. The keywords listed below provide an outline of some of the possible areas of interest.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2500 CHF (Swiss Francs).
