In recent decades, there has been extensive scientific research on the various uses of nanoparticles in different applications: the environment, the production and storage of energy, construction, electronics, cosmetics, human health, medicine, etc. Nanoparticles (NPs) are relatively new class of materials that have one dimension less than 100 nm, and can be 0D, 1D, 2D, or 3D. Their very small size influences the physiochemical properties of a substance, e.g.,the curing properties, optical properties, surface area, adsorption and photocatalytic properties, biocompatibility, etc. Owing to such exceptional characteristics, these materials have gained the interest of researchers in multidisciplinary fields.
Nanoparticles enhance performance in application throughout the whole life cycle and maintain accountable performance. They minimize environmental impacts, increasing energy and material efficiency, and enhance the recyclability of materials. Nanoparticles synthesis should have a minimal environmental impact; itis frequently obtained by green technologies. As mentioned above, nanoparticles enhanceperformance in application throughout the whole life cycle and maintain accountable performance, but special attention must paid to avoid their pollution with nanoparticles.
It is generally acknowledged that a current challenge is the development of new materials for advanced applications. In fact, the problem of the development of new nanomaterials entailsa highly innovative and promising new approach, derived from the necessity of paying attention to water, air and soil remediation, energy obtaining, human health, medicine, etc.
The main objective of this Special Issue is to attract more attention to nanoparticles synthesis and its application among the international R&D community.
Synthesis and Applications of Nanoparticles is a special number dedicated to this class of materials. The domain of nanoparticles is continuously increasing because there are a lot of aspects that must be elucidated in this area.
For this Issue, many nanoparticles will be considered, including but not limited to inorganic materials, magnetic materials, adsorbents, membranes, photocatalysts, glasses, ceramics, concrete with nanoparticles, coating materials with nanoparticles, biopolymers, nano-insulation materials, carbon nanotubes, nano-hydroxyapatites, semiconductors, sensors, etc.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
